Colorado Trip

Wow!!! What an active month we have had!! We have already spent a week in CO and a week in FL. No wonder I am so exhausted!!

On July 1st, Ryan's birthday, we headed to Atlanta to fly out the next day. On the way, we stopped by our friend Phil's mother's house in Carrollton, GA. Phil was Ryan's roommate in Iraq and has been a wonderful friend ever since! We had lunch with him and his mom and sister. Publix subs!!! Yummy!! And they got Ryan a wonderful cake that read...Happy Birthday Underneath that Ryan!! So, funny!! It is a little inside joke. Give me a call if you want the rest of the story!! :)

We then flew out of Atlanta on the 2nd to Denver, CO. We had a wonderful time there! Our little family went plus Ryan's parents, Ryan's bro Chris and his wife, Diona, and my little brother, Tommy, (who isnt so little anymore) all were there. We stayed in a beautiful cabin in Estes Park, CO, right next to the Rocky Mtn Nat Park! Ryan, Chris, Diona, and Tommy all went white water rafting on the 3rd while I got a massage at a beautiful historic hotel!! Thanks to Nana and Gumpy for watching Tyler and Katey!! We went on a little hike up to Alberta Falls in the Rocky Mountain National Park on the 4th. We enjoyed a lovely picnic at the top with our good friends Andrea and Scott. Andrea ran Cross Country/Track with me at FSU and Scott has been friends with Ryan since 5th grade!! We enojoyed fireworks from our cabin that night. Katey loved them and even fell asleep watching them. The rest of the week all she kept asking me was "When it is dark, we see fireworks from our house agian?" Tyler of course had his ears covered even though the fireworks were miles away!! Silly boy! We also went to a Rockies game! ANd it was also a lot of fun. Tyler absolutely loved going to his first MLB with his Daddy!! He went to a Rays game with his Uncle Chris and Gumpy while Ryan was in Iraq. So it was nice to have Daddy with him this time. And surprisingly Katey loved it also!! She would dance everytime a Rockies player went to bat because they played music!! Ryan, Chris, and Tommy also climbed Long's Peak, a 14,250 ft mountain!! It was actually snowing at the top!! The kids, Gumpy, Nana, Diona, and I had fun at Fun City. The kids rode go carts, played mini golf, Katey went on a huge slide, and Tyler did this trampoline bungee thing. I will add some pictures of all our fun later!! Oh, last but not least we all saw our old friends from Fort Bragg, the Walshes' !!! It was great to see old friends and family and be in such a beautiful place!!
